In the Field with Birds Calgary

Birds Calgary is a website and Blog devoted to wild bird watching in Calgary and Southern Alberta. It's a great place to go to find out where some of the best bird watching sites are in our area. There is also interesting stories and information to help you in your quest for birds. They also have some amazing photos to look at. One of the contributors for Birds Calgary is Dan Arndt. I talk with Dan about the site and his experiences birding.

Feeding Backyard Birds in Winter and Celebrity Birders

Winter time means winter feed for wild birds. On this episode of the Wild Bird Watcher I chat with Kris from the Wild Bird Store in Calgary about the feeds that you should be putting out in the winter months to keep the wild birds coming back and healthy. Preventing Bird Strikes

Bird strikes – One of the big concerns for wild bird watchers are bird strikes on your windows. It’s heartbreaking when you see either a stunned or dead bird on the ground. Certain times of year it is more of a problem than other times due to outdoor lighting conditions. Bird strikes are preventable and not just for people who have feeders in their backyards. Kris from the Wild Bird Store talks more about the problem and solutions.
